examination.

Tooth 24 root canal treatment 6-months post-op – The gingival abscess has
completed. It was suspected that the disappeared with tooth mobility reduced to
abscess is of periodontal origin that had grade 1. Radiographic examination revealed
infected the root canal system through incomplete healing of the apical lesion and
lateral canals. periodontal surgery was recommended. The
patient rejected periodontal treatment as he
felt his main concern (the abscess) had been
eliminated.

HCC: The patient reported a large abscess apical to tooth 24 after regular hygiene

appointment that comes and goes (Fig 35A). He is afraid to bite on 24 as it
is mobile and tender to biting.

O I/O: 24 M3, EPT (-), no caries or cracks
Rad: Sinogram with GP cone traced the origin to 24
