CC: “I want to save the tooth”
HCC: The patient reported sensitivity to sweet and cold on the lower left posterior,

his family dentist had informed him of recurrent caries on 36 and
proceeded to restore it for him, which had helped with the sensitivity for a
while. However, starting 2-3 weeks ago, he has been experiencing
throbbing pain at night which became spontaneous pain that’s only relieved
with ice chips about a week ago. He returned to his dentist and was told
that the tooth may not be restorable anymore and had recommended
#
extraction of 36 with implant replacement. The patient expressed a strong
desire to keep the tooth at all cost and was thus referred here for
consultation.
O E/O: Sensitivity to palpation of left TMJ and muscles of mastication
