through  the  use  of  a  3D  image,  however,  it  is  overkill  to  take  a  CBCT  just  to  check

            obturation. Thirty years ago, Boston University grad students were taught to use paper
            point tests (see “Warm Vertical Obturation Technique” and/or “Summary of Schilderian

            Techniques”)  to  determine  the  fWL.  To  this  date,  the  author  still  checks  the  wet-dry

            intersected  point  and  adjusts  the  master  cone  accordingly  prior  to  down-pack.
            Additionally,  a  radiograph  should  be  taken  after  the  plugger  has  reached  the  targeted

            depth (5-7mm from fWL) to determine if more down-packing is required, or if one can

            proceed to back-filling. If a post is to be placed in the canal, only down-packing of the
            GP is required  to ensure a  tight apical seal  at the  fWL without any need for back-fill

            afterwards.
