CC: Referred by her dentist for consultation of 46 retreatment
HCC: The patient reported throbbing pain after an implant was placed on her
#
lower right jaw ( 47). She’s been back to see her implant specialist and was
told that there is no problem with the implant, but 46 should be extracted
#
and replaced with an implant as well. After talking with a few friends, she
went to see another implant specialist for a second opinion and was told
#
pretty much the same thing, but that if she does not want to have 46
extracted she should see an endodontist for evaluation.
The patient was asked to recall and specify which type of pain she’s been
experiencing.

She thought about it for a while and said when she wakes up, she doesn’t seem to
be able to open her mouth fully and has to massage her face to help with
the discomfort.
